A NEW KIND OF SPORTSBOOK — CONCEPT

A different
bottom line.

What if the success of a sportsbook served the public good instead of private shareholders? Better is an early-stage concept exploring exactly that.

This is a non-operational demo. No accounts, wagers, deposits, payouts, or real odds.
01 / THE PRODUCT

For the love of the game.

See what happens when your pick wins or loses. If it loses, follow the money from your stake to the remaining surplus that would support good causes.

WHERE A LOSS CAN LEAD

Your pick can lose. Good causes can still benefit.

After payouts, costs, taxes and reserves, remaining surplus would support climate action, communities, education and gambling-harm prevention.

02 / WHERE THE MONEY GOES

The public gets the upside.

A transparent funding model could direct distributable surplus—after player obligations, operating costs, taxes, and reserves—to vetted public-benefit initiatives.

A losing bet is not a donation.Player stakes fund the sportsbook. Mission funding would come only from surplus left after every player and operating obligation is covered.

03 / THE MISSION

Good for sports.
Better for everyone.

Our working idea is a mission-locked nonprofit parent with a separately regulated, taxable operating subsidiary. That structure still requires legal, tax, and gaming-regulatory validation. We intend to prioritize responsible gambling and transparency from the beginning.

Mission-first ownershipNo private shareholder distributions from the mission-locked parent.
Independent accountabilityPublished finances, independently governed grantmaking, real impact reporting.
Protect peopleResponsible gambling protections are central, not an afterthought.
